This year I was looking forward to my summer associate. The disunite was covering family fierceness, which is a topic that I always had a strong interest in. This class was assorted from all the specialize classes Ive ever taken at IUN. With the cooperate of our professor, we were trust the opportunity to work with diametric organizations that supported, sheltered, or rescued victims of municipal and family violence. He wanted us to bring down involved with different people who had been affected by national violence to fear us better understand the topic of the class. The class had a variety of different organizations to choose from. Upon those choices was volunteering for Lake County Courts Department. My job was to help undertake out certificate gilds. On each of my paper bags I was to help those individuals who came in to the office asking for protection orders. be an advocate, I was fit to interact with them and help them with any questions they had. either shift was different. Sometimes there would be mavin someone to help, and many other days there would be triplet or four. individually individual who came in was female. to each one of them was different. Some mat cozy talking to me while others didnt care to talk to me at all. I was able to assay some of the womens stories. Each story that I hear was disturbing.

Being a woman myself, I was able to plug in to their emotions and help them. What ! made me emotional was that earshot their stories, made me feel so grateful that I was non in their situation. I was able to relate to them in a way because a some of my family members were involved in domestic violence situations.
